Osteoarthritis and joint related soft tissue injuries
The NHS says: "There's no cure for osteoarthritis, but the condition does not necessarily get any worse over time. There are a number of treatments to help relieve the symptoms.
The main treatments for the symptoms of osteoarthritis include:
lifestyle measures *– such as maintaining a healthy weight and exercising regularly
medication *– to relieve your pain
supportive therapies* – to help make everyday activities easier
In a few cases, where other treatments have not been helpful, surgery to repair, strengthen or replace damaged joints may also be considered."
While the above is not incorrect, it is generic and it doesn’t take into consideration the importance of biomechanics, and lacking the whys and clues as to what direction one might need to take if they wanted to prevent OA from worsening, ease symptoms and potentially stop the process.
In my experience, if the process of deterioration is recognized in time, and its biomechanical factors are identified and treated, its progression can be stopped and optimal function can be restored.

Post-Covid Myocarditis and Pericarditis
According to NHS data up to 10 per cent of COVID-19 patients in the UK suffer from ‘long COVID’ and it is thought that many patients who have had COVID-19 have ongoing inflammation in their heart. Many people aren't really aware and put some of these symptoms down to other things and continue to push themselves through their days.
Two of my now serious long COVID heart patients both recovered from COVID-19 infections, then a week or two later they started to resume their daily routines and exercise schedules and even though they felt a bit sluggish they just pushed through it. 2-3 weeks after that they both crashed with fatigue. and struggled to function normally. Wondering what's going on with a roller coaster of symptoms they struggled to function normally then diagnosis came. As a precaution I'd advice people to be very gradual with resuming their activities after a Covid infection as chances are there is a minor underlying inflammation which can be triggered by exertion.

Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction
TMJ dysfunction, or temporomandibular joint dysfunction, pertains to a range of issues that affect the jaw joint and surrounding muscles, often leading to discomfort, restricted movement, and pain. Treatment for TMJ dysfunction focuses on alleviating symptoms and restoring normal function. At Peter Bodi Therapy, we employ a holistic approach that may include physical therapy, manual therapy techniques, and tailored exercises designed to enhance jaw mobility and reduce pain.

Post surgical scar tissue
With the exception of very minor lesions, every wound, after accident, surgery and disease results in some degree of scarring.
Surgery is a form of trauma. Any type of trauma ends up causing inflammation and swelling of the tissues. Over time, that inflammation ends up being "converted" into scar. That scar can demonstrate itself in many different ways. While most patients are concerned mainly with the aesthetic appearance of surgical scars, excess scar tissue, layers deep, can significantly reduce function and movement months after surgery.

Visceral Manual Therapy
Osteopathic visceral manipulation is a gentle and holistic manual therapy that focuses on the mobilisation and optimisation of the internal organs and their surrounding structures to address digestive issues. Peter uses specific techniques to reposition and release tension within visceral tissues, which can result in improved circulation, reduced pain, and enhanced overall well-being. This approach recognises the intricate connections between body systems, promoting healing by nurturing the body's inherent ability to self-regulate and repair.

Disc Herniation, Back Pain and Spinal Problems
What is really ELDOA™? (and why you really need a qualified professional to learn it properly)
The ELDOA™ Method is a revolutionary exercise technique aimed to address postural dysfunctions, back pain, disc hernias, osteoarthritis and scoliosis. It works by self-induced myofascial tension where the subject engages in a very precise posture that solicits a specific fascial chain that is in link with the targeted joint segment making it the centre of separating forces. Each ELDOA™ posture is assigned to a joint segment and engages a different fascial plane. In fact, you can be very accurate with these exercises. By knowing the exact problem and its specific location, an experienced ELDOA™ practitioner should be able to isolate and address that body segment with a specific ELDOA™ exercise.
