Training
“Most people underestimate the impact of stress - both physical and psychological - while overestimate their body’s capacity to mitigate it. A good training program should take a holistic view of your life and account for the physiological, psychological and biomechanical implications of it. Part of my role is to identify these issues and address them in your program, aligning your goals and what your body needs.”
PERSONAL TRAINING - Effective Personal Training is like receiving a user’s manual to your own body with precise instructions on how to fine tune it. First you need to understand how it works and moves and where its limitations are, intrinsically and as a result of past events. Then you need to understand how you subconsciously compensate for any given limitation. Then the work starts. It’s “nervous system training” to start with.
Most people want to start with Strength Training. While this is fine for some, it is a mistake that sets many up for injuries and performance plateaus. In a nutshell; Awareness Training develops the required movement and postural awareness, breathing control, muscle control and coordination. Foundation Training focuses on developing the prerequisites for strength and conditioning. i.e. joint strength, muscle solicitation and recruitment, vascularisation and cardiovascular health etc. Strength & Fitness Training develops the quality of the muscles for different activities. Performance Conditioning supports sports specific goals and appropriate recovery.
